MacLeod Postgraduate Prize 2015

On November 2nd I was awarded the MacLeod Postgraduate Prize. The prize was established in memory of Dr Ken Macleod, a Consultant Physician at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, Director of Clinical Studies and Associate Dean (Exeter) for the Peninsula medical School. The award was for outstanding contribution to charitable works in the UK and abroad and I was delighted to have won it for my association wiht the charity Interface Uganda.

This was the fifth year of this award and the winner is invited to make a presentation at the MacLeod lecture. This was given by Professor Terence Stephenson Chair of the General Medical Council, Nuffield Professor of Child Health at University College London.

The trustees of the MacLeod Prize kindly agreed for part of the prize, (an additional £400) to be donated to Starlight, a charity for children who are seriously or terminally ill to help with my  fund raising for the London Marathon in April 2016.
