New directions from September 2017

After working in the NHS as a qualified doctor for 35 years, Vikram will sadly leave his current NHS appointment as a consultant plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon at the Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Trust. From his post as a house officer in Leeds in 1982, to almost 25 years in consultant practice, the NHS has always been a huge part of his working life.

From 1st September 2017, Vikram will continue his private medical practice at Nuffield Health Exeter. He has also increased his sessions teaching undergraduate medical students at the University of Exeter Medical School as a senior lecturer and lead for Clinical Anatomy. He will also be teaching some medical students at the University of Bristol.

Studying for the Diploma in Clinical  Education as well as compiling new course material for the MBBS undergraduate programme will offer new challenges for the future.

He is looking forward to the new change in direction and has no plans to retire. He will continue to hold an honorary NHS contract, maintain full medical revalidation with the GMC and intends to stay just as busy!
